Versatile Guitar Plugin Spans Clean to High-Gain Tones with IR Processing
ToneLib has released TL GrandMagus, a dual-channel amplifier plugin with integrated cabinet IR processing and effect modules. The plugin covers tonal range from clean to high-gain and integrates with the TL GFX effects suite as an add-on.
Amplifier Channels
The plugin features two independent channels. The Green channel handles clean and British-style crunch tones, while the Red channel provides high-gain sounds for rhythm work and lead playing. Both channels operate within a single amplifier unit with independent control sets.
Cabinet IR Processor
The Arcanery Cab section uses over 100 manually captured impulse responses. The processor emulates microphone positioning on speakers through an interactive visual interface. Users can select from four microphone options and adjust placement for tonal variation.
Stereo mode enables dual-speaker operation with panning controls, integrated speaker delay, and cut filters. The system processes cabinet simulation at the signal chain's output stage.
Effects Modules
TL GrandMagus includes five effect processors. Pre-amplifier effects consist of Shield Noise Gate for signal cleaning, Scepter Overdrive for gain boost, and Wand Treble Booster for high-frequency emphasis. Post-amplifier effects include Coven Chorus for modulation and Celestial Reverb for spatial processing.
Technical Features
Adaptive Oversampling adjusts processing quality based on system capabilities. A/B comparison mode allows switching between two plugin configurations. In VST and standalone modes, the plugin processes stereo signals simultaneously across both channels.
Integration Options
The plugin operates as a VST/VST3/AU plugin, TL GFX add-on, or standalone application. Add-on mode integrates directly into TL GFX 4.90 or higher without requiring a separate plugin instance.
Availability
TL GrandMagus is available for $41.25 (regularly $54.95) with a 14-day trial period. The plugin supports Windows 7-11, macOS 10.13 or higher, and Ubuntu 18 or higher in 64-bit formats.
