Featuring 15-Piece Timpani Ensemble and Analog Processing

SRM Sounds has released Valley Forge, an innovative virtual instrument inspired by Douglas Trumbull's "Silent Running" spaceship. This unique sound library explores the relationship between organic and technological elements through an extensive sampling session with a 15-piece timpani ensemble.
Recorded at Studio Richter Mahr, Valley Forge features six distinct timpani instruments including hits, clusters, rolls, and various FX created with unconventional techniques. Four microphone perspectives were captured: close, tree, room, and ambient.
The library extends beyond traditional percussion by processing the timpani recordings through analog electronic devices to create a distinctive drone instrument. Max Richter's original Minimoog Model D has also been sampled and included as a synthesizer complement.
All instruments share an FX hub linked to keyswitches, allowing for extensive sonic exploration. Each instrument features custom effects and controls, making Valley Forge particularly effective for scores requiring otherworldly atmospheres.
"Valley Forge is a place of sonic exploration. Like all musical instruments, it's an act of the imagination. And in this case, it's a place where these strange sounds exist," says Max Richter.
The 9.7GB Kontakt Player library requires version 6.8.0 or higher and is NKS compatible.
