Roland Cloud Launches PCM Synth Collection Software Bundle - AUDIO PLUGIN NEWS

JV-1080, XV-5080, and SRX Expansions Recreated for Modern Production

Roland Cloud has released the PCM Synth Collection, a software bundle featuring recreations of the JV-1080 and XV-5080 sound modules along with the complete SRX Expansion Series. The collection brings PCM-based synthesis from Roland's hardware era into modern DAW workflows.

Classic Sound Modules Reimagined

The JV-1080, released in the 1990s, became widely used in R&B, pop, hip hop, and film scores. Its acoustic-style presets helped define the sound of that decade. The software version recreates the original's interface and presets while adding expanded effects, additional waveforms, and increased polyphony.

The XV-5080 arrived in 2000 as Roland's flagship sound module. The software version includes over 900 presets covering cinematic scores to retro game soundtracks. It features multitimbral synthesis capabilities, modulation options, and DSP effects.

SRX Expansion Series

The collection includes ten SRX Software Synthesizer plugins: BRASS, DANCE TRAX, ELECTRIC PIANO, KEYBOARDS, ORCHESTRA, PIANO I, PIANO II, STRINGS, STUDIO, and WORLD. These recreate Roland's SR-JV80 and SRX wave expansion boards using the original sample ROMs with behavior modeling of the hardware's digital components.

Technical Details

The PCM Synth Collection supports VST3, AU, and AAX plugin formats. Each instrument features detailed interfaces with expanded editing views and modern workflow enhancements. The bundle is available as a Lifetime Key purchase with free updates.
