Reflex Acoustics Releases Free Reflexive EQ Dynamic Processor

Reflex Acoustics Releases Free Reflexive EQ Dynamic Processor - AUDIO PLUGIN NEWS

Four-Band Dynamic EQ with Mid/Side Processing

Reflex Acoustics has released Reflexive EQ, a dynamic EQ plugin featuring four independent bell curves with compression and expansion modes. The plugin includes automatic gain-staging and processes mid and side information separately.

Dynamic EQ Architecture

Reflexive EQ provides four bell curves, each with adjustable gain, frequency, Q-factor, and attack/release times. Each band can process mid and side information independently or together. Individual bells can have their dynamics deactivated when static EQ is needed. The plugin offers up to 10ms look-ahead with minimum-phase filters designed to avoid pre-ringing artifacts.

Detection and Analysis

The detector frequency range can be customized and auditioned for each band. Automatic detector threshold adjustment allows consistent operation across different input levels. Optional automatic make-up gain targets neutral LUFS impact. External sidechain ducking is supported, with potentially clashing frequencies highlighted when a sidechain is connected.

Interface and Operation

The spectrum analyzer features enhanced low-end time/frequency resolution with a 140dB range and 4.5dB/octave tilt. The resizable interface allows dragging circles to adjust frequency and gain, with mouse wheel control for Q-factor adjustment. Double-clicking toggles bands on/off, and clicking the display enables instant A/B testing.

Reflexive EQ is available for free and supports VST3, AAX, and AU formats on Windows and MacOS. The plugin operates at zero latency without look-ahead, or up to 10ms with look-ahead enabled. Factory presets are included. More information is available on the Reflex Acoustics website.
