Unconventional Grand Piano Library Explores New Sonic Territory

Native Instruments Unveils Claire: Avant for Experimental Piano Textures - AUDIO PLUGIN NEWS

Native Instruments has released Claire: Avant, a Kontakt instrument that captures unconventional piano sounds through innovative recording techniques. This experimental sequel to their Claire grand piano library offers unique timbres ideal for contemporary film scoring and sound design.

Innovative Sound Collection

Claire: Avant features nine distinct articulations including brushed tones, damped una corda, flageolet harmonics, and various mallet techniques. The library was recorded with the piano lid removed to capture intimate mechanical sounds and resonances normally hidden in traditional piano recordings. Each articulation includes up to 13 velocity layers and three round robins for realistic performance.

The instrument incorporates the Particles engine for creating evolving textures and harmonics that respond to player input. Over 40 Pattern Tool presets provide additional creative options for generating complex, organic passages. Comprehensive sound-shaping controls allow users to fine-tune resonance, overtones, pedal noise, and other sonic elements.
