Moog Music Decides to Leave its Asheville Headquarters

Moog Music is planning to relocate its current headquarters on Broadway Street in Asheville to the downtown area.

Moog Music has been conducting its performance program 'Sound Lab' and factory tours in the Asheville building. Artists such as Chvrches, Toro Y Moi, and Jack Antonoff have performed at the Sound Lab.

According to reports from the local newspaper Citizen Times, Moog's product design, development, and engineering staff are set to move to the second floor of the Citizen Times newspaper office located downtown.

Moog Music President Joe Richardson expressed through media that the downtown area is "a place where creativity and musical expression thrive." He also expressed hopes for collaboration with Citizen Vinyl Press Factory located in the same building.

This decision is observed to have been made following InMusic's acquisition of Moog Music in June last year. InMusic owns brands such as Akai Pro, Alesis, and Denon.

In an interview with News 13 on the 15th, President Joe Richardson stated, "During the merger, there were roles within the organization that were redundant or already existed. We had to adjust the workforce to reflect the new integrated business model."

Additionally, it was announced that they will expand their manufacturing facility located in Weaverville, approximately 14 km away from Asheville.

Meanwhile, last September, just three months after Moog Music was acquired by InMusic, a significant number of employees were laid off, sparking controversy. Concerns were raised about the closure of the Asheville factory and the relocation of production lines overseas.
