Synthesizer manufacturer Moog Music has announced the closure of its store in Asheville, North Carolina.
On the 28th of last month, Moog Music stated via Facebook, "As we prepare for the next chapter, we've made the decision to close our store, but our factory will continue to operate, with our engineers continuing to handcraft the instruments that represent Moog."
Moog Music explained that this decision will allow them to focus more on developing new products and supporting existing Moog products. They also expressed gratitude to their fans and encouraged visits to the 'Moogseum', a museum located in Asheville.
Meanwhile, Moog Music relocated its headquarters from the Asheville factory to the Citizen Times building in downtown in March.
Following InMusic's acquisition of Moog Music in June last year, and the layoff of the majority of employees in September, concerns were raised about damage to Moog Music's identity. However, the Asheville factory is still being maintained as is.
Furthermore, they are showing signs of continued new product development, such as the recent release of Spectravox, a semi-modular analog synthesizer specialized in spectral processing.
