Fracture Sounds releases Compendium: Eldenvale, a cinematic fantasy and folk instrument collection designed for game scoring and folk-influenced compositions. The library includes over 25 instruments spanning woodwinds, strings, plucked instruments, atmospheric textures, and medieval percussion, compressed to 53.4GB from a 112GB sample pool.
Chamber String Ensemble and Folk Legato
Eldenvale features a chamber string ensemble arranged in a 3,2,3,2 layout across violins, violas, cellos, and basses. The configuration balances detailed expressive scoring with powerful melodic capabilities while maintaining a folk-like character and transparent texture.
The folk legato collection includes wooden flute, tin and low whistles, and uilleann pipes recorded in dry studio conditions. Each instrument incorporates Smart Legato technology for realistic melodic performance with comprehensive articulation sets.
Innovative Composing Tools
The library introduces new composing features including the Celtic harp's Glissando Controller for cascading melodies, bouzouki's Chordal Performance Engine for compositional ease, and cello phrases' Root Key Selector. The lute and theorbo include Double Tracking within the Instrument Placement system for enhanced depth.
Solo cello phrases provide 69 improvised phrases across 12 root keys for immediate melodic content.
Atmospheric Content and Percussion
Eldenvale includes 33 Fantasy Pads created from library samples, 15 Dark Drones, and Forest Voices featuring four altos performing delicate articulations. The percussion section encompasses medieval and traditional drums, metals including gongs and cymbals, orchestral bass drums, and church bells cast by the same foundry that created Big Ben.
Technical Integration
The library runs in the free Kontakt Player with full NKS support for Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol keyboards. NKS integration provides intuitive parameter control and accessibility features for visually impaired musicians.
