Solo String Swells Collection with Five Microphone Perspectives
Bunker Samples has released Iremia Swells, a standalone collection of string swell articulations drawn from the full Iremia series. The library features swells from violin, viola, and cello, designed to add emotional depth and human quality to compositions.
Three Instruments, Three Swell Types
The collection includes three string instruments, each with three distinct swell variations: Normale for bright, unmuted sound; Con Sordino for softer, warmer muted tones; and Con Sordino Tremolo for lively, fluttering textures. Each swell type is available in four lengths—4, 3, 2, and 1 seconds—selectable via key switches or GUI. The Time Machine Pro patches allow time-stretching from 75 to 130% without quality loss.
Detailed Microphone Capture
Iremia Swells were recorded with five mic positions to capture the microscopic details of soft playing. The Inside mic provides body from within the instrument body itself. Super Close positioning uses Aston mics at the bow contact point for maximum detail. Close, Mid, and Far perspectives offer traditional close recording, room depth, and spacious width respectively.
Workflow and Control
The interface provides straightforward swell and length selection. Built-in Replika delay and convolution reverb include per-microphone send controls. Additional features include sample start alignment for darker tones, adjustable velocity response, and discrete output routing for individual mic processing in your DAW.
Specifications and Requirements
The library contains 3,780 samples in 4.46GB lossless compressed format with 36 total articulations across 6 patches. It requires the full version of Native Instruments Kontakt 6.7.1 or later.
Pricing and Upgrade Path
Iremia Swells is priced at $49 (regularly $99) as an intro price through November 16. Owners can upgrade to the full Iremia Solo String Instruments at any time with discount codes included in the download. The complete Iremia Bundle of all three instruments is $199 (regularly $297).
