Four-Band Stereo EQ Plugin Designed for Mastering and Critical Mixing Applications
Brainstorming Audio has launched BSA Maser EQ, a precision stereo equalizer plugin developed for mastering and critical mixing workflows. The plugin features clean, transparent sound processing with discrete control parameters across four frequency bands per channel.
Dual-Channel Architecture
BSA Maser EQ provides two identical channels, each equipped with four equalization bands. The frequency ranges vary per band, with Band 1 covering 19Hz to 530Hz, Band 2 spanning 21Hz to 572Hz, Band 3 ranging from 617Hz to 24kHz, and Band 4 extending from 665Hz to 27kHz.
Each band offers gain adjustment within approximately ±10dB range using discrete steps, with 0dB unity gain as the default setting. Individual bands can be activated or bypassed using dedicated IN buttons that illuminate when active.
Bandwidth Control System
The plugin features a comprehensive bandwidth control system with six different curve shapes. Settings range from shelving (0) through various slopes including 4 dB/Oct for wide musical applications, 6 dB/Oct and 9 dB/Oct for medium control, up to 20 dB/Oct for surgical or notch filtering applications.
A visual legend table and graph display the curve shapes corresponding to each bandwidth setting, providing immediate feedback for frequency response visualization.
Mastering Features
BSA Maser EQ includes a Link L/R function that mirrors parameter changes between channels for perfect stereo synchronization during mastering applications. A master output gain control compensates for overall level changes introduced during equalization processing.
The plugin supports multiple formats including VST3, AU, CLAP, and standalone versions on macOS, with VST3 and CLAP available for Windows systems.
System Requirements and Pricing
BSA Maser EQ requires macOS 10.13 or higher (Intel or Apple Silicon) or Windows 10 64-bit, with Intel Core i5, AMD Ryzen 5, or Apple M1/M2/M3 processors. The plugin needs 4GB RAM (8GB recommended) and 100MB disk space with any compatible 64-bit DAW.
