Acustica Audio has announced 'SUNGLOW', a channel strip plug-in that combines various British console sounds.
SUNGLOW features a Class A transformer-based preamp, a hybrid 4-band EQ, and a VCA bus compressor/limiter, modernly implementing the appealing sound of vintage British consoles.
The preamp section offers six emulation modes (Mono Line, Mono Mic, Mono DI, Stereo Comp, Stereo Bus Group, Stereo Mix). Particularly, it vividly reproduces the dynamic response of analog equipment through Acustica Audio's latest 'Analog Plus' algorithm technology.
The hybrid 4-band EQ combines circuits from different products. With different active and passive EQ circuits applied to each frequency range, you can feel the sound design direction pursued by Acustica Audio.
According to the manufacturer, by using their Aria engine in the midrange and the high-performance CORE 16 engine in the low and high frequencies, the response of analog equalizers can be meticulously reproduced.
The VCA-based bus compressor/limiter allows for various ratio settings from 1.5:1 to limiting, and its Soft-Knee characteristic makes it suitable for both vocals and overall mixes. A classic limiter mode inspired by a legendary British brand also enables vintage sound shaping.
SUNGLOW is provided as an all-in-one channel strip, offering up to 8x oversampling and Sum, LR, Mid, Side monitoring functions. The regular price is 129 euros, but it is sold at a discounted price of 79 euros until July 3.
