fedDSP has released leONE, a dual-stage limiter for macOS and Windows in VST3, AU, and AAX formats, designed for creative loudness maximization and reliable peak control.
Before the signal reaches the main limiting stage, leONE passes through a color section with controls for low-end resonance, tube saturation, transformer character, and lo-fi processing. The first limiting stage, CLAMP, offers variable release and a GRIT mode for a more coloured response. A second stage provides a transparent safety limiter with a ceiling just below 0 dB, switchable between smooth and aggressive modes. Advanced controls include global high-pass and low-pass filters, selectable stereo or dual mono operation, a MODERN/VINTAGE selector that affects the behavior of every color stage, and a global parallel mix knob. fedDSP describes the plugin as built for low CPU usage to allow high instance counts across large sessions.
