MIDI Divisi Engine Creates Up to 16 Individual Parts Per Instance

Nextmidi has released Divisimate Core, a modular orchestration plugin that generates multiple instrument parts from single MIDI tracks. The plugin runs directly in DAWs and distributes processed notes across up to 16 separate instrument tracks.

MIDI Divisi Engine

Divisimate Core uses a divisi algorithm that splits incoming MIDI into individual musical voices. Each voice can be routed to different virtual instruments within the project. The system allows users to create orchestrations without recording each instrument separately.

The plugin operates in real-time and supports multiple instances. Users can configure different instances for specific sections or ensemble groups within a single session.

Orchestration Tools

The plugin includes five modifier plugins for creating patterns, switching articulations, and building voicings. Available modifiers are Transposer, Arpeggiator, and Trigger, among others.

Divisimate Core features a Perform page for organizing orchestration presets. Users can build custom layouts for different ensembles and recall settings via keyswitches or MIDI controllers.

Preset Library

The plugin ships with over 200 presets organized into three sets covering brass, woodwinds, and strings. These presets provide starting points for common orchestral configurations.

Divisimate Core is available for $149 ($119 introductory price). A trial version and educational discount are offered. The plugin represents a lightweight version of Divisimate 2 with streamlined integration and 16-part capability per instance.

More information is available on the Divisimate website.
