AI-Driven Compression Matrix
smart:comp 3 analyzes incoming audio and displays viable compression options in its Compression Matrix. The system calculates parameters automatically, showing how different settings affect the signal. This approach reduces the trial-and-error process typically associated with compression tasks.
Group Mode for Multi-Track Control
The plugin includes Group Mode, which controls up to 7 instances simultaneously through inter-plugin communication. Users can adjust threshold, ratio, attack, release, and mix parameters across multiple tracks from a single window. This feature addresses workflows involving drum channels or vocal stacks that require consistent compression settings.
Advanced Processing Options
smart:comp 3 provides three preset Styles—Clean, Smooth, and Aggressive—plus a customizable option for attack/release curves and saturation. The plugin includes Spectral Compression and Spectral Ducking, which apply processing selectively based on frequency content. Additional features include Input Riding, Minimum Phase Mode for zero-latency operation, and Mid-Side processing.
The plugin supports VST, VST3, AU, and AAX formats on both Mac and Windows platforms. It runs natively on Apple Silicon and handles sample rates from 44.1 kHz to 192 kHz.
