Prominy has released V-METAL 2, the successor to their acclaimed V-METAL virtual guitar instrument. The new version builds on over two decades of virtual guitar development experience, featuring comprehensive sampling of an ESP Alexi Blacky guitar with EMG humbuckers across 22GB of audio content.
Comprehensive Sampling and Performance Features
V-METAL 2 contains over 47,000 samples designed to capture what Prominy describes as "brutal sonic detail" from the source instrument. The library includes multiple levels of palm muting intensity, pre-noise articulations, and real-time legato slides alongside hammer-on and pull-off techniques.
The instrument features both real sampled chords and emulated chord capabilities, with user-customizable chord options and intelligent chord recognition. Auto stroke detection and customizable strum keys provide additional performance control for realistic guitar playing styles.
Enhanced Interface and Workflow
The completely redesigned interface offers improved usability and visual clarity compared to the original V-METAL. Key additions include a fretboard monitor for visual feedback, intelligent instrument key switching with chord recognition, and enhanced real-time playability through what Prominy calls the "Super Performance Instrument" system.
Multiple specialized articulations are available including rake, cricket, and feedback effects, plus double-tracking capabilities for wider guitar sounds. The instrument covers extended low note ranges and provides direct guitar signals for external processing.
Built-in Processing and Effects
V-METAL 2 includes integrated amp simulators and effects, reducing the need for external guitar processing plugins. This built-in approach aims to provide immediate usable sounds while maintaining the flexibility for custom processing chains.
The instrument supports arpeggio keys for complex melodic patterns and offers customizable performance settings to match different playing styles and musical contexts.

Since its 2011 release, the original V-METAL gained adoption among top composers and producers for its realistic guitar performance characteristics. V-METAL 2 represents Prominy's continued development in virtual guitar technology, incorporating user feedback and technical advances from over a decade of use.
