Baza has launched BAZA DRUMS, an AI-assisted MIDI drum pattern generator designed to create musical grooves in seconds. The plugin generates MIDI patterns that can be sent to DAW instruments, samplers, or external drum machines, allowing users to maintain control over sound design and processing.
AI-Generated Pattern Creation
The plugin uses style-inspired models including House, Breakbeat, and Hybrid genres to generate drum patterns. Users can set the musical character before generation using parameters called Continuity, Focus, Chaos, and Continue, which control how steady, tight, or unpredictable the resulting groove will be.
BAZA DRUMS offers selective regeneration, allowing users to click individual instrument labels like KICK, SNARE, or HATS to regenerate only that element while preserving the rest of the groove. This approach enables targeted adjustments without losing established pattern elements.
Variation and Editing Features
Each generation provides multiple variations that users can browse, chain, and morph using VAR and Variation Speed controls. This functionality supports building longer phrases without manual editing requirements.
The plugin includes per-instrument controls for Velocity, Density, Shift, and Note mapping, plus quick Mute and Lock functions. Users can lock preferred elements and regenerate others selectively. Global Swing control adjusts the timing feel, while one-click ADD functions provide instant 4/4 kick, snare, and open hat foundations.
DAW and Hardware Integration
BAZA DRUMS operates as a MIDI-only generator, supporting drag-and-drop MIDI export to DAWs and live MIDI recording. The plugin can route MIDI output to external hardware drum machines and grooveboxes for hands-on performance integration.
