Late-Sixties Plate Reverb with Hybrid Processing Engine
Audiopunks has released Ecoplate Reverb, a plugin emulation of a late-1960s plate reverb unit. The plugin uses a hybrid processing approach combining convolution and algorithmic modeling to recreate the original hardware's characteristics.
Plate Design
The original Ecoplate hardware uses a steel alloy plate whose vibrations produce natural decay. A pair of pickups captures the plate's stereo reverb response. According to the developer, the plugin recreates the smooth decay and spacious tone of the original unit.
Processing and Controls
Ecoplate Reverb features a continuous width control ranging from true mono to wide stereo. Gain-compensated filters allow tone shaping without affecting output level. The hybrid engine blends convolution for realistic plate character with algorithmic processing for extended control.
Technical Specifications
The plugin supports AU, VST3, and AAX formats on Windows 10 and requires a Core i5 or Ryzen Pro 3 processor (or better) with 8GB RAM. Internet connection is needed for authentication.
