Single-Note Trigger System for Multi-Sample Drum Stacks
Diginoiz has released LAYER IT, a VST sampler plugin designed to streamline drum layering workflows. The plugin allows multiple samples to be triggered simultaneously with a single MIDI note.
Workflow Integration
Traditional drum layering methods present several limitations. Audio clips restrict easy sample swapping, MIDI clips on separate tracks lack waveform visualization, and multi-sample drum racks require individual MIDI notes for each layer.
LAYER IT addresses these issues by combining visual feedback with MIDI flexibility. The plugin displays samples as stacked waveforms with individual timing offsets, all controlled by one MIDI note or key press.
Per-Layer Controls
Each layer includes volume and pan controls along with a dedicated equalizer. Multi-stage envelope generators provide dynamic shaping for gain, pitch, filter, and distortion parameters.
The plugin functions as a self-contained multitrack workspace with MIDI-triggered playback. Completed stacks can be exported as single audio files to a folder or dragged directly onto a DAW timeline.
Sample Library and Features
LAYER IT ships with 1,300 samples and includes 155 presets. The plugin supports unlimited layers and imports user samples in WAV, MP3, WMA, AIFF, FLAC, and OGG formats.

- Solo and mute controls per layer
- Pan and width controls
- Multiple filter and distortion types
- Forward/backward, mono/poly, and trigger/gate playback modes
- Output level metering in dBFS and dBTP
Pricing and Availability
LAYER IT is available for $59 (regular price $119). The plugin supports VST3, AU, and standalone formats on macOS 10.13 or later (including Apple Silicon) and Windows 10/11. AAX format is listed as coming soon.
