TAQS.IM has launched SOLO, a world music synthesis plugin combining authentic sampled instruments with hybrid synthesis capabilities. The plugin supports microtonal scales, MIDI phrases, and MPE for expressive performance across PC and Mac.
Hybrid Synthesis Engine
SOLO integrates analog-modeled, phase distortion, wavetable, and sample playback oscillators alongside a library of globally-sourced sounds. Users can layer traditional tones with modern synthesis for both authentic and contemporary results. Sound editing tools include Ladder and 303-style filters, plus effects like distortion, phaser, delay, and reverb.
Microtonal Scale Support
An "oriental-style" scale converter provides access to extensive microtonal scales capturing Middle Eastern and global musical traditions. The tool enables exploration beyond the twelve-tone chromatic scale with intuitive controls.
MIDI Phrases and Performance
SOLO includes expertly performed MIDI phrases in true microtonal scales, ready to drag and drop into any DAW. Advanced MIDI Polyphonic Expression and modulation features deliver natural, expressive control.
Cross-Platform Compatibility
SOLO runs on PC and Mac with VST3, AU, and AAX support, compatible with Cubase, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, FL Studio, Pro Tools, Reaper, and Studio One. The Mac version is optimized for M-series chips. Activation allows up to 5 devices per license without dongles.
Expansion Flexibility
Users can import custom SFZ, Korg KMP, and SoundFont2 samples. Expansion packs extend the sound palette.
