Vintage Italian Monophonic Synth Enhanced for Modern Production

AudioThing has launched SX1000, a detailed software emulation of the JEN SX1000 Synthetone, the pioneering affordable analog synthesizer from 1978. This virtual instrument expands upon the original hardware's capabilities while maintaining its distinctive sonic character.
Authentic Analog Architecture
The plugin meticulously recreates the original M110 chip-based architecture, featuring sawtooth, square, and pulse waveforms alongside the characteristic MM5837 digital noise generator. The 24dB/octave resonant low-pass filter delivers the organic sound quality of the original hardware.
Modern Enhancements
SX1000 extends the original design with modern features including polyphonic capabilities, a sub-oscillator with range down to -3 octaves, and expanded legato controls. The implementation includes a Juno-60 inspired arpeggiator with up to 4 octaves range and multiple playback modes.
Integrated Effects Suite
The instrument incorporates four studio-grade effects: a Space Echo-inspired tape delay, vintage spring reverb, Serge Wave Multiplier-style wave folder, and BBD-based flanger. Users can freely arrange the effects chain through drag-and-drop routing.
