The Eighty synthesizer plugin introduces a sophisticated recreation of vintage analog sound, incorporating three distinct synthesis lines that capture the essence of the legendary CS-80. Two lines faithfully reproduce the iconic linked high-pass and low-pass filters, while a third line adds modern versatility through a 2D mixer interface.
Authentic Sound Architecture
The plugin features meticulously modeled oscillators and zero-delay 12 dB resonant filters, preserving the warmth of analog synthesis while maintaining pristine digital clarity. The distinctive SAW wave generation includes characteristic short pulses that define its unique tonal character.
Each synthesis line combines an oscillator with LFO capabilities and dual filter configuration, controlled by specialized envelope generators. The high-pass and low-pass filters work in tandem to shape the sound while maintaining low-end integrity, even during resonant sweeps.
Modern Enhancements
The integrated chorus effect adds essential depth and movement to the sound, complemented by a comprehensive effects section including delay, phaser, reverb, and EQ. A ring modulator with envelope control provides additional sound-shaping possibilities.
The extended arpeggiator allows for dynamic modulation control per step, while the intuitive preset manager helps users quickly locate and organize sounds. Performance controls include polyphonic aftertouch, velocity sensitivity, and extensive modulation routing options.
