New Algorithm Delivers Classic EMT 140-Style Plate Reverb Sound
Airwindows has released a new plate reverb plugin kPlate140. This plugin aims to recreate the distinctive characteristics of large plate reverbs while incorporating modern digital processing techniques.
The kPlate140 builds on the foundation of its predecessor, kPlate240, but offers a distinctly different sonic character. It utilizes a 5×5 Householder matrix configuration combined with plate-style delay density and Pear filters, enhanced by SubTight technology.
This plugin produces a deeper, more pronounced reverb character compared to kPlate240. Where the 240 version delivers a more understated, cloudy texture, kPlate140 generates a bolder, more expansive reverb sound that mirrors the characteristics of classic large-format plate reverbs.
The plugin is available in multiple formats including CLAP, AU, VST3, and LV2. It is compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems, with versions available for M1/Intel processors.
