Microphone manufacturer Soyuz introduces the '013 Ambisonic' microphone, which can be used for spatial audio and creative recording.
This new microphone combines four of Soyuz's popular 013 FET small-diaphragm condenser microphones with four custom-made transformers, released as a single microphone capable of 360-degree surround recording.
Aiming for vivid sound, it uses four 25mm condenser capsules made in-house by Soyuz to provide a wider frequency range, enhanced detail, and deeper bass. Additionally, four Soyuz toroidal transformers add extra depth and subtle characteristics.
The custom plugin provided allows for perfect control in post-production. Developed in collaboration with Audio Brewers, the custom ambisonic transcoder and decoder plugin is compatible with all major DAWs, allowing users to reimagine their recordings and adjust the sound field as desired.
According to the manufacturer, the 013 Ambisonic is designed for ease of use and delivers excellent results in any system or playback format, guaranteeing future-oriented immersive sound whether in an Atmos theater or a car.
