Prism Sound, the manufacturer of the Lyra audio interface, recently discovered counterfeit versions of Lyra and warned about their dangers.
On the 10th, Prism Sound announced on its website that it had discovered counterfeit versions of the Lyra audio interface circulating recently.
Prism Sound said the counterfeits appear to be illegally manufactured in the Far East region, and not only may malfunction but also cannot guarantee safety.
Mark Evans, International Sales Director at Prism Sound, stated, "After discovering the counterfeits and thoroughly investigating them, we found through testing just how far below standards these fakes are."
He added, "Some were so poorly assembled that there is a high risk of serious electrical malfunctions occurring, making them genuinely dangerous."
Prism Sound recommends purchasing the Lyra interface through authorized dealers. If you are unsure about the authenticity of a used unit, you can inquire via Prism Sound's email, and they will guide you on how to distinguish a genuine product from a counterfeit.
